On this page you can find general information on the festival.

For the fifth time the NVN organises an International Nature Photo festival. The previous festivals were a big success and the rooms were filled with hundreds of enthusiastic nature photographers from The Netherlands and abroad.

There is an attractive and extensive programme which takes two full days.
Main guest is Jim Brandenburg, an internationally well-known photographer. He has worked for National Geographic Magazine for many years and has memorable publications to his name.
This is the first time he is in The Netherlands to show images from his extensive oeuvre. A unique opportunity you should not miss!

Furthermore, there is an opportunity to have portfolios assessed by the assistant editor of the Dutch version of the National Geographic, and to have professional nature photographers discuss your own material.

Tickets are available, but experience teaches that it quickly sells out. The unfortunate result is that we have to disappoint people.

Expositions
In spring 2009 the NVN organized a competition among nature photographers in The Netherlands. The winning photographs can be admired in the corridor leading to the Safari Meeting Centre.

Location
Again, the festival will be held in Burgers’ Zoo in Arnhem. The presentations will take place in the auditorium. The ticket for the festival also gives free access to Burgers’ Zoo.

Accessibility
Burgers’ Zoo is situated on the north side of Arnhem. Car drivers are directed to the big parking lot (€ 3) of Burgers’ Zoo from all major directions on the motorway.
Burgers’ Zoo can also be reached well by public transport. Arnhem has a large train station and from there buses drive up to the entrance of Burgers’ Zoo.
More information on the visitor page.

Restaurants
In Burgers’ Zoo there are a number of facilities to eat or drink something. At the auditorium there is a big restaurant, which will be open for all visitors to the festival.

Spending the night
The festival takes 2 days. On both days there is an interesting programme. For those people who do not want to miss anything, there are plenty of opportunities to spend the night in the many hotels in Arnhem and surroundings. This gives you more time to visit the festival as well as Burgers’ Zoo.
